Let's talk about it today and try to figure out how we can transform our traumas. What will change in our lives and what will happen as a result if we achieve this? If you're interested in these, I strongly advise you to keep reading until the end.

Dear friends; We must first understand trauma in order to learn how to transform or overcome it.

If we first comprehend what the trauma actually is and how it manifests in the body, we can arrive at more precise results in less time in our own body and mind.

So what is Trauma?

Trauma is essentially any experience in life or something that happens to us that we "perceive" negatively. Even if an experience has no effect, we nonetheless label it as "destructive" or having "more drawbacks than benefits" based on our own value judgments.

In other words, we must first perceive an experience as "damaging" or "bad" in our brains before we can label it as traumatic. We wouldn't have labeled this experience as traumatic from the start or identified it as a trauma source if our perspective wasn’t negative.

More importantly, trauma happens when we believe we do not have the internal resources to overcome one or more of the experiences.

Yes, dear friends, whenever we perceive an event to have more drawbacks, negative consequences, and harmful, we label it as "trauma" in our minds. We are likely to perceive it as a "threat" to our survival.

How to Recover from Trauma

So far, we have worked to comprehend how perceptions, not real events, are what cause traumas. We now move on to the most crucial question.  How may trauma be transformed or overcome?

I'll outline a 4-step approach for you in relation to this. You can quickly recognize the changes in your life caused by traumas if you internalize these stages and use them correctly.

  1. Confirm and accept: The first step in transforming everything in life is to confirm and accept. Whatever we do not accept, we cannot alter or transform.

If you’re familiar with Brene Brown’s work on radical acceptance, then you probably know the power of fully "surrendering to any experience". This is the essence and key of this issue.

In my classes and sessions, I see how tens of thousands of people are able to completely let go of their trauma within seconds and transform it. They must be able to stay within the experience rather than resist it. At that moment, it becomes easier for many to transform their trauma into triumph.

It's also crucial to remember that life doesn't just happen to us; it happens for us. Every negative experience we have or that we consider as being more detrimental than beneficial is actually full with lessons to be understood and insights to be seen. They become our teacher, our light, our ally the moment we surrender fully to these experimental processes.

I can hear you saying, "It’s easy to say’’. Making these happen is undoubtedly a lot harder than it seems. That is why breathing exercises and meditation are critical. These are the initial and most important principles in our curriculum. You may be wondering why. Because nothing you accept can be changed.

  1. Practice Breathwork on a Regular Basis: Transformation depends on a sense of safety and stability in the body and nervous system. In our body and nervous system, breathing is the best and easiest way to do this. Those who follow us know that regular breathing is our first principle. We can create a safe space for people to transform and heal as a result of regular breathing work. So my recommendation to you is to begin your breathing exercises as soon as you can in a steady and disciplined manner.
  2. Develop a Partnership with Your Body, The Body Is a Safe Haven: People frequently remember how they felt in general rather than the specifics of the traumatic experience. They show reactions like distancing and avoidance. But even if it hasn't always felt that way, we must learn that the body itself is a safe place to return to when dealing with trauma.

While speech therapy and other resources can be beneficial, the majority of our memories are stored in our bodies. This is because our brain performs what is known as Prefrontal Cortex Check Out during trauma. our intelligent brain begins to stunt energy and resources from higher brain structures to areas of the brain that help respond to trauma and stress (the amygdala, brain stem, hypothalamus to name a few).

At this very moment, we learn to partner with our body, that our body is a safe haven, and that if we practice it consciously, we will return to our breath and physical body. Traumas can be transformed when we develop a partnership with our body.

4. Working on Distorted Perceptions: After we feel secure and prepared to proceed, it's crucial to deal with our minds and our distorted interpretations of what happened. We can ask ourselves: What was the lesson I should have gained from this experience? The moment we feel the

strongest emotions, we must immediately return to our true selves and the idea of perception. Then we must ask ourselves, ‘’How did this unique experience benefit me?"

Just grab a pen and start writing, my dear friend. What were the advantages of this experience overall? What did this experience teach you? Who were you before this memorable experience? Who are you now? What part of this experience has shaped who you are today? How did this experience help you? What positive things and valuable lessons did this tragic experience teach you?

When we are lost in our perceptions, we are unable to see the bigger picture; however, if we are free of them, we are able to see it clearly. Keep in mind… Nothing in the universe can be purely terrible, damaging, or bad. Every event, symptom, and experience has both positives and negatives in equal measure.  Therefore, nothing can simply be good or bad, white or black.

In short, when we can see both sides of the story and perceive how we can benefit from each experience, we can transform any trauma in seconds…

I hope this post has been informative and beneficial to you. Do not hesitate to ask us any questions you may have on the topic. Stay healthy.
